The Triathlon Coach
I completed my first triathlon in 1985. Unlike today, where sports drinks and t-shirts are the usual freebies, competitors were given a bottle of wine on crossing the line. Happy days! The sport has since seen immense changes, but I’m as enthusiastic today as I was then.
I started coaching in the mid-90’s, joining a small band of qualified triathlon coaches working in the UK. Over the years I’ve worked hard to develop as a coach; I know that a good coach never stops learning. Over the years, I’ve coached athletes of all abilities from complete novices to a world champion.
I’m currently working with the British Triathlon Federation (BTF) in training and assessing triathlon coaches across the UK.
In addition to coaching, I also work part-time as a university lecturer in Sport and Exercise Science so I have both the knowledge and experience to help you plan and organise your training. Together we’ll set achievable training goals so you get value and enjoyment from every workout.
I know how it feels to compete; I race all triathlon distances including Ironman and I’m a regular GB qualifier.
